Visitors are welcome to tour this countryside vineyard and winery. Tours begin and end in the carefully constructed barn at the top of the hill. Spend some time studying the corkscrew collection and winery artifacts. The tour will take you through the path of the grape as it makes the wondrous transformation from vine to fruit to wine. In the cellar, you will experience the sites and smells of the wine-making process. In the tasting room, you will be able to sample the results of the wine-growing. Please join us in the rolling hills of Brenham to taste the wine traditions of the Zaffiro and Macedonio families. Our gift shop offers wines and souvenirs for sale.

At Red Caboose Winery, we start with quality from the ground up.  Using certified grafted grapevines, we plant our vines with quality wines in mind.  We believe quality wines start with quality grapes. Our vines are manicured by hand though out the year and end with a hand picked harvest. This insures top quality grapes for the production of award winning wines.

Our winery design philosophy is similar.  With simplicity in mind, we created a  winery that is energy efficient and functionally effective. Together with advanced geothermal cooling,  and photovoltaic cells, we were able to achieve our energy-efficiency goals.

One the shores of sparkling Lake Ivie, just between the high plains and the hill country, we’re making wine for ourselves and our fellow Texans, with a sweetening start, and a tangy twist, and “just enough love from a Princess”.

We think that wine is like art, everyone has their own taste, and none is more right than another-only different.  With our Hot Texas summers lasting 8 months, give or take,– we realize that many of our fellow Texans prefer sweet or semi-sweet wine during this time.  Some folks in the industry may frown on this approach, but we’re from the school where “the customer is always right.”  So,– we hope to do just that—give our customers a choice of wines to drink, and let them decide what’s best.
