iJerkyGuy

In 2014, Ryan Rickey was looking for a way to make some extra income.  It didn’t take him long to decide to sell jerky at the farmer’s markets in Portland, OR. Thinking it would be catchy and easy to remember Ryan chose the name iJerkyGuy, after everyone called him “the jerky guy”.

After vending at a couple local festivals, Ryan wanted to try out bigger venues.  For a year and a half, he traveled further away from Portland. By the fall of 2015, he went to sell at The Texas State Fair, where he met Guillermina Moncada, who became his wife and business partner.

What started as just being neighbors at the fair, quickly grew into a deeper friendship for Ryan and Guillermina.  They realized that they were both solo entrepreneurs that could complement and accompany each other.  Together they started a new business adventure, combining their talents, and different backgrounds.

Today, they spend most of their time learning how to improve their business, looking for better venues, and growing as a new family.
